Kruger National Park is one of the largest and most famous game reserves in Africa, located in the northeastern part of South Africa. It spans across the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga, covering an area of approximately 19,623 square kilometers (7,576 square miles). The park is renowned for its incredible biodiversity and offers some of the best wildlife viewing experiences in the world
Established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld, Kruger National Park became South Africa's first national park in 1926. It is part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, which links it with Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe and Limpopo National Park in Mozambique.
The park is home to an impressive variety of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, and buffalo), as well as numerous other species such as cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and antelopes. Visitors can explore the park through self-drive safaris, guided tours, and bush walks, and there are several rest camps and lodges within the park for accommodation.
Kruger National Park is not only a haven for wildlife but also a treasure trove of cultural heritage, with ancient rock paintings and archaeological sites that offer a glimpse into the history of the region
